What Could Have Been

I know that I have already mentioned here (a number of times) that I love reading so much. It’s one thing that gives me a natural high. I remember when I was still pregnant with Sophia; I grew more addicted to reading. Since I was on complete bed rest for 5 months, I had nothing else to do but just to watch and read. I was so bored that I even pored over medical books. Maybe that’s the reason why my Pia is so smart. Anyway, I was surprised myself that I became really interested in health related writing. I’d spend hours on the net too reading about the same stuff. That’s the reason that every time I go to the doctor, they cannot intimidate me with their jargons because I know what they are talking about. I have realized that if I am not sick, I would have landed on one of the medical and healthcare jobs. I could have been successful in that field.

Loca for Roca

As I have raved about my other blog, I am a total bag addict! Actually I have more than 50 bags that more than half of it was already given away to some of the members in the family and my closest friends. But since I am still acquiring more, in just no time I’ll be having a big bag garage sale already! I have been restraining myself from buying the one that I have set my heart on the first time I saw it. It’s a vibrant pieced snake print, buttery leathers and monochromatic stud detail rocawear purple (my now favorite color) bag! It’s so gorgeous that I don’t know if how long I can really hold myself back from having it. See for yourself and you’ll know what I mean.

Flu Season

A lot of people are getting sick in the office right now. It’s again the season of flu. Some still goes to work even if they aren’t feeling well but some are even hospitalized for viral flu. Gone are the days that all you need is plenty of rest and water and you will be up and about again. The flu strain right now is very different. It is so strong that without meds and antibiotics you’ll feel like you will never get well. Health is really wealth though how passé it sounds that old adage is still very true. We were talking about how we can take care of ourselves more and that in passing we even discussed Medicare part D plans. It’s good to know that even if you get sick, all will be taken cared of if you’ve got a health plan. Better be ready than be sorry.

Forces of Nature

When the killer typhoon Ondoy visited our country almost a year ago, many of my colleagues suffered its wrath. They lost their homes, possessions and even their cars were submerged in the water. I saw pictures of it posted in FB that were all immersed in murky and muddy waters. It was very unfortunate that the damage done by the typhoon to their cars was not covered by their car insurance companies because of the Acts of God clause. They all regretted their decisions when they applied for insurance and refused to take on the one with coverage for Acts of God or Acts of Nature. It took them months before they were able to have their cars repaired and have it all running again.

Think It Over

Every time I go out with my friends to wine and dine in a mall, hubby gets agitated that I might come home with plenty of shopping bags on my hands. And true enough, just last week I came back with 5 shopping bags of new clothes. I love glamming up. And if you can call it a vice then maybe that’s my addiction. I just want to try looking and feeling good whenever I want. Of course there are those times that you just want to dress down but that is very rare on my part. Hubby is even suggesting that I should start to seriously consider online auction for my many things. Maybe I really should. I still have to think it over, though.

Makeover

I am thinking of having an extreme house makeover. It’s been years since we last decorated and rearranged the furniture. It’s going to be very exciting! I remembered when we were still having our house made; I’ve pored over hundreds of house designing magazines before we were able to look for the perfect one for us. And now I think it’s time to revamp its look already and update the appliances as well. I will start by changing my dinner droplights to Kichler lighting.

Wishful Thinking

When I was still a maiden my idea of getting proposed at was very romantic. I would walk into a garden full of lovely flowers on a starlit night. And before I reach the table that was set for a candlelit dinner, floodlights would flash on me putting me on spotlight and a mariachi ensemble would come out from behind the garden and play me a beautiful Mexican love song. And right after that I’d see the Will You Marry Me? written in the sky thru fireworks. But it didn’t happen because my husband forgot his romantic bone the night he proposed to me. He just gave me a velvety box with ring in it while sitting in the car on Valentine’s Day of 2006 and said “Here”. But even if his proposal wasn’t at all what I have dreamed it to be, he is everything that I have dreamed of in a husband and so much more.

My cousin who is now residing in North Carolina sent me an email today attaching pictures of her everyday life there. She said that though she is still in the process of adjusting and adapting to the new environment, she really likes it there now. She even mentioned that she got a health insurance in nc as well. I think it’s a good idea especially that she’s really far away from us and nobody will be taking care of her medical needs if ever. At least now we will be relieved to know that everything’s taken cared of already.

Will Power

When I have asked my friend Arnold what motivated him to win The Biggest Loser contest in our office, he said that at first it was the prize money at stake but in the long run it became his desire to really look and feel good about himself again. I really admire him for that. Not all people are that determined to reach their goal. I want to emulate him but laziness gets the better of me sometimes that I am tempted to do it the easy way like that in the newdietpill.org. I wish I have that same will power like my friend had when he lost a total of 31 pounds in 7 weeks.

Temperamental Sophie

My darling Sophie whom I fondly call Pia now has turned two years old last Saturday. And like what most of the articles say about Terrible Twos, I am proving you that all were oh so true! Pia is not just naughty now but very stubborn as well. When she wants something all hell’s going to break lose until you give it to her. She’s just simply out of control! She throws a fit most of the time even if we always assure her of our love and concern for her. I hope this is just a phase that she’s going through. Because if this go on, I will need the best wrinkle filler already to keep up with her tantrums.
