A Wedding to Remember
I really feel for a good friend of mine when all the terrible things have to happen on her special day, her wedding day. Her make-up artist came very late because of gimmicking until the wee hours in the morning the previous night. She can’t start her photo shoot without her make-up on so her photographer and the rest of the team has to wait for her and all that’s included in the entourage to be finished first before they can start with their thing. It resulted to them being really late to get in the church and her bridal march had to be scrapped off from the program! Imagine a wedding without the bride marching on the aisle to meet the love of her life at the end of it, truly unthinkable! And to top it all, it rained like cats and dogs and hers was a garden wedding. It was a horrendous day for her. And we the guests couldn’t find the right words to pacify her. We are just thankful that his husband has always been a good-natured guy and took it all like a big practical joke from the heavens. He said that God must have played a trick on them to test how much they really love each other. That even if the wedding was a “disaster” it was just one day but they still have the rest of their lives to create wonderful and beautiful memories that will live forever. That was just the sweetest thing that we have ever heard and it even brought tears to our eyes. My friend was so choked up that she was speechless and wasn’t able to say her thanks to the attendees personally. It was okay we didn’t mind at all that’s why we were surprised when we received personalized note cards from the newlyweds thanking us for attending and staying at their wedding in spite of all and most especially for making their special day more special because of our presence. They are such a sweet couple. My very best wishes to them.
