Second Movie Date

On a lighter note, hubby and I had our 2nd movie date since we got married last April. This is really a big deal for us because with our hectic schedules, we were still able to find time to relax and unwind. We went to Rockwell Power Plant to watch Stardust starring Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. It is based on the novel of Neil Gaiman who also co-wrote the script for Robert Zemeckis’s Beowulf with Roger Avary. Stardust lived up to our expectations as a full-blooded action-adventure fairy tale. You’d definitely cheer for the heroes and heroines of the film and wish ill for the villains but in the end it will melt your heart because of the beautiful love story of Yvaine (Danes) and Tristan (Cox) that unfolded right before your very eyes. A warm round of applause for the actors for giving justice to their roles. But I take my hat off to Michelle Pfeiffer. Her portrayal of Lamia as the evil witch who plans to kill Yvaine and eat her heart out to attain beauty and life everlasting was just simply magnificent!

I just think that Gwyneth Paltrow could have made a better Yvaine than Claire Danes though. ;-)

After movies, we treated ourselves to our fave local brand of ice cream FIC. It stands for Fruits in Ice Cream and it’s the fruitiest and creamiest ice cream that we’ve ever tasted. We can’t resist not buying one because once you’ve tasted it you will always come back for more. It’s so delectable. Try having one and you’ll know what I mean. My uber favorite is FIC Lite Mixed Berries. The fruitiest, berriest combination without added sugar! Mixed into dairy cream with 50% less fat. Try it and experience real ice cream like never before. Here’s a pic of my second favorite strawberry. :-)

Then we just window shopped. Hubby has issued a cease and desist order on me when it comes to shopping. I spent thousands already from shopping on-line for bags, shoes, clothes, accessories and did I mention bags? Since I’ve gone out of control already, hubby decided to stepped up and take the matters into his own hands. Hubby said that if I’m not in dire need of whatever it is that I’ve set my eyes (heart and soul) on, then I should refrain from buying it. Everyday, is like “this would be the last time that I’ll ever buy anything on-line” with matching pursed lips and puppy eyes. And hubby, would finally give in with an exasperated sigh and say that “Okay, if buying that bag would make you happy then go ahead, but this would be the last time okay?” And I would say, “Okay” and we would seal it with a pinky promise until I see something that would make my heart beat rate shoot up the ceiling again. Like my recently purchased Kathy Van Zeeland Crown Princess Shopper bag, isn’t it gorgeous?

You have to congratulate me though, I haven’t bought anything for the last 1 week and a half already, that’s a real breakthrough for me! I’m on my way to being totally cured of my being a shopaholic. Whoopee! Thee cheers for me. Hip, hip hooray! Hip, hip hooray! Hip, hip hooray! Hubby will be so proud. :D
